Google Gemini Changes - 2025

Google Gemini 2025 Updates
For the AI lovers out there, Google Gemini changed in 3 significant ways this year. These updates focus on giving users better control over their data and privacy settings within the Gemini ecosystem.

1. Accessing and Reviewing Activity

When you are signed in and have Gemini Apps Activity enabled on your Android device, all your interactions are comprehensively stored in your Google Account.

What gets stored:

  • Text prompts and responses
  • Live chat transcripts
  • Audio conversations
  • Video interactions
  • Screen share sessions

How to access your activity:

  1. In Gemini apps: Tap your profile picture → Gemini Apps Activity
  2. Online: Visit My Activity in your Google Account

2. Deleting Activity

Google now provides comprehensive deletion controls for all your stored Gemini interactions. When you delete a Live chat, all associated content is completely removed.

All Time Delete everything from your account
Recent Activity Last hour or day
Date Range Specific time periods
Individual Items Single conversations or interactions

The same deletion controls are available in both mobile and web interfaces, ensuring consistent privacy management across all platforms.

3. Disabling Gemini Apps Activity & Auto Deletion

Users aged 18 and over have Gemini Apps activity turned on by default. However, you have full control over these settings.

To disable activity tracking:

  1. Tap your profile in the app
  2. Select Gemini Apps Activity
  3. Choose Turn off or Turn off and delete activity

Important: Even after turning off activity tracking, conversations are temporarily retained for up to 72 hours to ensure service stability, but won't appear in your activity feed.

Auto-deletion options:

3 months
18 months
(default)
36 months
Manual only

Google's deletion process is thorough: data is first removed from your view, then systematically purged from all storage systems to ensure complete removal.
